Msexchangefbpublish and error updating busy

Thanks Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchange FBPublish Event Category: General Event ID: 8207 Date: Time: User: N/A Computer: xxxxx Description: Error updating public folder with free/busy information on virtual machine xxxxx. For more information, see Help and Support Center at but to be honest, i think there was already a problem like this in exchange 2003.

anyway, if i open the public folder management console i find: System Public Folders\SCHEDUEL FREE BUSY. If the problem existed before the migration wouldn't it have made sense to resolve the problem before trying to do a migration?

The server is windows server 2003 SP2, the exchange server is 2007 sp3.

Exchange was migrated from exchange 2003 and the exchange 2003 server is removed from the organisation.

In Outlook 2003, users can see free/busy information for users created after migration, but can't see free/busy information for users that were migrated. Running outlook /cleanfreebusy produces an error message "Unable to clean your free/busy information on the server" for migrated users, but succeeds for new users. Autodiscover seems to be configured correctly, but I guess it's two different problems.

The 3rd party Certificate Authority actually had a different intermediate certificate which was required for use when using either Exchange 2007 or OCS 2007.

Once this was obtained from their website, imported and the old intermediate certificate removed, the problems disappeared.
