Updating globe light fixtures
Sherry and John over at had grown tired of the heavy lights above their bathroom vanity.
It wasn’t heavy so much in the terms of weight, but in look.
My original plan was to simply buy a couple of similar new ceiling mount fixtures in a brushed bronze finish to match the hardware on the bedroom doors.
But when I stopped by the Home Depot to see what the choices were in my price range, I was not impressed.
So if you’re browsing for vanity light fittings take the time to double check that the shade will go with the fixture.
And if you do make a mistake, don’t be too hard on yourself, it happens to the best of us!

Dab the flat end of the applicator sponge brush into the paint, then tap the edge on some newspapers to blot away as much excess paint as possible.
Allow the first coats of paint to dry and apply a second coat.
Do not get too close to the stencil cut-outs or you could ruin the design; leave at least an inch of space around the stencil designs.
Squirt a small puddle of paint into a flat, wide container, such as a disposable plastic dish or aluminum pie plate.
